Family resided within Buenos Aires up until Taylor-Joy reached the age of six, then moved to Victoria district in London. Taylor Joy said the move from Buenos aires to Victoria was a struggle and she did not learn English, hoping to go back to Argentina. Hill House became her school preference after she was ordered to move schools. In the following year, she joined Queen's Gate School to study ballet and act in productions of the school. After dropping out at 16 she pursued an acting career. Taylor-Joy was always aware her goal was to be an actress. This was achieved when Sarah Doukas founder of Storm Management gave Taylor-Joy a modelling job.
